Can I just say how much I appreciate this current trend of splattered gold leaf???
So before this popular look dies down.....give me all the gold leaf.....and let me work it in to my whimsically painted designs!
Can you believe I have NEVER painted a drop down secretary desk like the one below???

Well now I have!!
I actually asked many of you to vote on what color I should paint the right side of this piece! Do you follow me on Instagram @traceysfancy or Facebook? I had a crazy number of people who offered their input.....and I considered every single vote!
Hot Pink.....Cobalt Blue.....and Purple were the three most popular votes! So I decided to go with all of them!
I painted a layered look of Peony Pink over Cobalt Blue. I used a wet distressing technique to allow both colors to show....and in some areas....the two colors blended making a purple cast....like you see below!
The gold leaf technique is not a difficult process and offers the most dramatic look out there right now! I actually taught this to my ladies in Class 3 of the Whimsical Wonderland Course.
As always....the pairing of a bold color with black and white stripes....takes this once very serious secretary desk to a level of whimsical glamour that is getting a lot of attention!
