Can you believe I incorporated 3 prints into ONE animal print safari chair?! If you love animal print, but YOU CAN'T DRAW, no worries! Today's chair is PROOF that YOU CAN, because I've got an easy fix for you!
How about a stencil???
Not into animal prints? Well, choose ANOTHER stencil that you LOVE and give this same process a try! You can watch the entire creation of this Animal Print Painted Chair on my YouTube video here:

I happen to LOVE animal prints so I couldn't wait to try the new Dixie Belle Safari Stencil!
First, I primed the chair using Dixie Belle Boss in gray. This helps seal the original fabric and sets it up well for painting.
I painted the entire chair in Silk Anchor. I love using Silk on fabric as it dries with the smoothest, most amazing finish! I apply a thin coat with no water…. let it dry for about 2 hours and follow with a second thin coat…. again…. no water.
Once dry, I began adding the stencil designs. I chose Dixie Belle's gilding wax in Gold! It works really well with stencils and holds up great for high traffic spaces like a chair!
I chose leopard for the seat!
This is my FAVORITE of the prints! I just worked in sections matching up the pattern as I moved the stencil…. which is really easy!!! I applied the gold wax using my French Tip brush and the pouncing method (don't forget you can see this method on the YouTube video).
I used the tiger print stencil for the chair back.
I think it looks SO cool here!!!
The giraffe print was for the back.
This one actually offers way more gold than the others. I wasn't expecting that, BUT I love it!
The fourth animal print is zebra…
I just didn't use it on this piece.
I didn't worry about the gold wax getting on the painted chair frame because I prefer to keep things easy.
No taping off etc. necessary! So some final touch-ups of black to cover the gold, and this chair is done!!!!
Silk Paint doesn't require a top coat and neither does the gold wax!
As long as both have time to cure… they are set and ready! After three days…… this chair is ready for use!
I think it is a sassy sexy beautiful feature piece and it was fast and easy to do!
So grab yourself a stencil and a chair and get busy!
