Teacher Giveaway Selection Process
We (Matt and I) partnered with Dixie Belle Paint Company for a Teacher Giveaway.
We actually asked teachers to enter a giveaway by submitting a photo of the room they needed help with along with a story as to why they wanted it done.
After much consideration, we chose Priscilla and her master bedroom!
I've laid this blog out in a four part series....and it's in video format on my You Tube Channel.
These videos are short...and fun...and will take you through the initial introduction and room discovery meeting, shopping for needed supplies, multiple projects in the room and then finally the big reveal and final share from our winner.
Let me just tell you how incredibly rewarding this project was!
It was an absolute honor to be invited into someone's home and to be trusted to carry out the design ideas.
I hope to do more of these in the near future!
Are you ready to get started? Each video is about 7-8 minutes long....and so worth the time!
Enjoy!
Master Bedroom Makeover (Part 1): Planning & Supplies
It is important to learn a little about the client and what their design style is in the rest of their home.
Prior to arriving I asked Priscilla to share room inspiration photos with me, more photos of her room, and colors that make her feel calm and at peace.
We set up a date and time to meet and this is how it went:
Master Bedroom Makeover (Part 2): Painting the Room
Matt and I have painted hundreds of walls...mostly in our own home.
He swears our home has lost square footage due to how many times our walls have been painted.
We will share our tips with you here:
Master Bedroom Makeover (Part 3): Painting Furniture
Time allowed for us to paint one piece of furniture in the room.
My goal here was to bring Priscilla INTO the project and use this as an opportunity to teach her how to do this on her own for future furniture pieces in her home.
I think you will find this to be an educational video as well:
Master Bedroom Makeover (Part 4): Full Room Install
This is when it all comes together!
There may be a few tears.....and a lot of laughs!
The investment of time was SO worth it!! I just love this master bedroom makeover on a budget!
And the making of a new friend was such a blessing!
