Jenn Brookover Photogrpahy for their gorgeous maternity/belly photos!!!)
Bratt Decor crib!!!! It was a GIFT from Elyse's Aunt Tiffany and Uncle Bub ….and is dripping with style in its elegant pewter metallic finish. And I have to tell you that prego momma and long-time family friend Luly put that crib together all by themselves while Blake was out of town! Girl power!!!!
bedding selections were made we began tossing ideas around for wall color. She decided soft gray walls with a horizontal magenta stripe as the accent wall…..and a soft mint (almost a washed out aqua) for the ceiling. (All paint colors and products will be listed in my Shop section below for your shopping convenience),
Elyse's mom (aka Glam…lol)….and Elyse got busy with the gray paint while I began measuring and taping off for the magenta stripes. We left the mint ceiling paint for Blake! Painting ceilings is NOT my gig!! We completed the entire four walls in just a few hours. Once this was done we were ready to roll on all projects! I am not going to go into detail about each project as I can blog to you about those later. This is just a visual tour of a dreamy boho chic baby nursery that is so full of detail that it needs to be enjoyed by all!
Bazaar Velvet but I decided to buy a cheap rug to begin with. I'll probably get her a designer rug once she's older and therefore, less likely to ruin it!! I use XOXO way too much in life as it is…and then we found this! I'll never forget…Elyse was driving…I was the passenger and it went something like this…."so Elyse, have you found a rug yet"…."no….not yet"…..Tracey googles black and white rugs and this one pops up…."omg E…you are going to die!!! LOOK at this rug"….Tracey shows her the picture (while she's driving ….super bad GIGI..major no-no)….."oh no way!!!! no way!!!! That is it! I'm ordering that rug"!!! Because did ya'll notice the bed sheet on the crib is XOXO's????? Meant to be!
(PS - That black and white striped Ju-Ju-Be Diaper bag is found here.)
They are available in my shop for customization. Elyse and her mom found a saying that they both really liked…and asked me to use it on the feature piece. I was only asked to make the base color black. The rest just came to me as I began to paint. It was a surprise for Elyse….and she was brought to tears when she saw it! That just pleases me "to no end" (that was a saying my mom always used….I miss my mom…and wish she were here to witness all of this in person). I will document this cable spool project for you later. But I will say that I love its rawness and distressed goodness….keeping the room from being too glossy and accentuating the boho of "boho-chic" (which to me means a sort of FANCY boho…LOL)! And a big thank you to Pappi and Blake for BOLTING that thing to the wall for life….so no comments about it not being safe! It's not going anywhere!!!

Moving over to the opposite side of the room is a gorgeous upcycled dresser. Blake and Elyse already owned this dresser and thought it was the perfect size for the room…but they did not like the finish it had. So I got busy with my paints and texture and stencils and made the raised crocodile drawer fronts for added interest. You can check out my tutorial on how to obtain this exact look here. I chose a dark charcoal washed look for the dresser….again in an effort to keep the room from becoming too glossy….and adding just a touch of organic feel to it. And then just like a cherry on a sundae….Elyse had picked each and every knob for the drawers. They are a perfect combination of color and funk and whimsy!

For some reason I failed to get a very good photo of the giant dreamcatcher that I made. It is in the background of this same photo…behind Glam's gorgeous mobile. I have not decided if I want to offer these in my shop just yet….as it was a TON of work….but so worth it for Kinsey's room. It is loaded with hanging ribbons and crystals and feathers and ricrac and ball-ball trim that you can see in the photo below….
here) that is super comfy and perfect for late night feedings and snuggles. The beautiful monogrammed minky blanket with the giant satin magenta ruffle was given to them by Blake's grandmother, Nini, and can be purchased from Caden Lane.
If we back up the camera a bit you get a good view of the ceiling and chandelier! How gorgeous is a black chandelier??? I have two in my own home…and they add such funk and drama!
how I made this book stack table here. It was a super fun and fulfilling project that anyone can do with furniture stamps! I also made the framed inspirational quote that sits on the table…..and it was signed by each and every person that attended Elyse's crazy successful baby shower!!!! She requested this as it makes a wonderful keepsake for baby!
WHEW! See what I mean when I said it took a team/family effort to bring Elyse's vision to a reality? But it was worth every minute and we built lasting memories in the process!
So here they are again….just the two of them….about to be three!
