Would you believe it if I told you that my first online business started with Easter buckets?
Well it did!
Nine years ago….that is crazy to say! nine years ago…I ordered 2,000 orange plastic “trick or treat” pumpkins from China…..painted them in spring colors…glued feather boas and bunny ears on them….and sold out so quickly that I did not see the light of day outside my shop for over a month! True story….
Fast forward through another year of painting wine glasses….eight years of a booming furniture painting business….and here I am today…..now a grandma….whipping up a few VERY last-minute Easter buckets again!
And not only are they SO cute…they are EASY….and make great last minute gifts!

I purchased the buckets in hot pink and blue from Hobby Lobby. I chose my Dixie Belle paints for their faces. A full supply list is in the shop section at the bottom of this post.
Bunny ear headbands, bunny feet, the biggest fluffy cotton tail I’ve ever seen, boho fringe and of course…..my favorite accessory ever….ball trim (aka “ball-balls” in my house)…..all from Hobby Lobby…..is all that is needed!
Using my glue gun….I attached the ball trim, fringe, feet and tail. I removed the ears from the headband and glued them individually to the inside of the bucket. I then drew the face with a sharpie marker….and filled in the details with my paint. I also painted one set of bunny feet blue….for the boy bunny.
If you look closely you will see a glitter shimmer. I love this product….Glitter Blast. It sprays out this really dense powder full of glitter sparkles that add so much personality to all your girly hand painted crafts. Once this was set and dry….about 30 minutes…..I gave each bucket a light mist of Triple Thick which helps to seal and protect the paint.
I’m not sure how well these will hold up to three little monkeys all under two years old….but as easy as they were to make…and for as little as they cost….if they just get through this year’s Easter egg hunts with ears still in place…this GIGI will be happy!
I’ve listed the products that I used on these cute Easter Baskets. I only recommend products and brushes that I use myself and LOVE!!! These are all affiliate links from Dixie Belle Paint Company and Amazon and Hobby Lobby!!!
See you next week!
