“Deck the Walls…BABY!”

Who would have ever thought this wall would create such a “buzz?”

It all started with a very generous referral from our friends at Nursery Couture; an upscale baby and nursery Boutique in San Antonio, Texas.  Our potential client was young and hip with a keen sense for fashion and design.  She definitely wasn’t afraid of color.  She loves edgy, even “over the top” design!  Her tastes are impeccable!   Shoot…she’s ‘over-the-top” in personality and style! Everything in her house screamed every descriptive word I’ve used plus some!  Her home…well lets just say….big, beautiful, bright, bold, and brilliantly decorated….and she asked us…Traceys Fancy…to add to her beautiful home! Our first assignment was the nursery for a soon-to-be baby boy, Cash.  A painted plank wall fit the order!

We figured how many planks were needed for the wall, had an installer mount them to the wall all cut to various lengths. She had her colors; grey, white, black, and silver.

     

 We marked each board with our paint color and the painting began.  We used the big box store brand paints.  It was a challenge as it went on thick and didn’t spread easily over the rough planks.  Once that was done we sanded the entire wall to give it that “rustic” and worn look!

As we completed more orders we found we were going through more paint until we made the switch and started using Heirloom Traditions Paint.  It’s smooth, silky consistency spread effortlessly, over the rough cedar planks.   Our “go to” colors are Venetian, French Vanilla, Alamode, and Black Bean.

We’re SUPER EXCITED to have received our first order for a little girls’ room!  Shades of pinks, creams, gold and silver!  You’ll want to watch for that one!  Heirloom Traditions Paint has incredible pink tones to choose!  Can’t wait!!!

Since then, this wall has kinda gone…viral…at least for us!

We’ve been to Dallas to an NBA baller’s home to paint their son’s room.

Baby Paxton parents ordered our kit and installed on their own!  They did a fantastic job don’t you think?

 Little Baby Cruz has silver and gold!

And of course, we were honored to do Nursery Couture owner Katy Mimari’s store display.

We now make these plank walls in kits and ship them all across the country.  We cut, paint, number, distress, and package these for shipping.  Woo-Hoo!
