The Design Plan: I kind of have a thing for nutcrackers!!
My mom was an avid nutcracker collector and when she passed I inherited her collection and have been adding to it ever since!
They are nostalgic for me and I plan to pass that same feeling onto my kids.
So when I saw the brand new nutcracker design transfers I couldn't add them to my cart fast enough!
Before: A Christmas Furniture Transformation Project
I knew exactly how I wanted to use the nutcracker design transfers as well as exactly on what piece!!
BUT.....I had already painted the piece AND applied another transfer to it.
SO......redress time!
I sanded off the existing transfer. (yes, you can do that)...cleaned it well....primed it with Bonding Boss and was ready to go!

Christmas Furniture: Nutcracker Entry Table
Start with the Base Coat
I painted the entire cabinet in Fluff.
I really liked the solid white which is so strange for me.....it was just so fresh!
It didn't stay white for very long.....I had big plans with some of my favorite patterns!
Creating a "Spotlight" for my Nutcracker Transfers
I knew I wanted to place a nutcracker in each of the three front raised panels.....but I really wanted to highlight them first.
So I used Caviar to shade around each raised panel leaving the center in a highlighted "spotlight" fashion for each little nutcracker!
I then painted the surround of each panel in the metallic paint Gold Digger....
Now for the harlequin pattern... and leopard too!
Using my 10 year old harlequin paper template....I traced it out evenly over the entire vertical body.
I painted every other diamond shape in the gorgeous Honky Tonk Red.....two coats each to be exact.
And using my Posca Pen in black.....I created a leopard pattern.
Adding my Signature Black & White Stripes
Bringing in the black and white stripes to the top and the bottom was a no brainer.....as I like to use the black/white combo and the stripes to help calm the storm.
I used my typical stripe method....tape/space/tape/space......burnish with base coat color (which was Fluff).....paint black stripes and remove tape while the paint is wet!
Perfect stripes every single time!
The star of the show... The Nutcracker Trio!!!
(there are actually four nutcrackers in the transfer package but I just used three)
They are easy to apply....just peel off the backing....press them onto your project....rub with the provided wood stick.....gently remove the plastic backing...and voila!
I place a nutcracker in each raised panel and the highlighting is so perfect surrounding them!!
They actually look as if they have a spot light on them!
I couldn't be happier!
I also added three of the little Christmas packages that are included in the transfer (there are 8 total).
Final Details
The entire pIece is finished off with a satin top coat for lasting durability!!
The Finished Look: Nightcracker Entry Table
I am so in love with this cabinet!!!
In full transparency, I do not have the space to store furniture that will only be used for Christmas so I have added this cutie to my available furniture in hopes that someone out there does have that luxury and can't live without it!
The nutcracker transfers would be so cute on ANY Christmas decor... even fancy large wrapped Christmas presents. I seen them on a wooden or galvanized tree bucket, a porch leaner sign, even on Christmas stockings! Whatever you decide to use them on......I know you'll be happy with them!
The nutcracker design transfers are not yet available to purchase on line....just another week or two away though! I'll be sending out an email to let you know when they are available to order.....I got you!
