The Jack Daniels Rabbit Hole

These are a few of my faaaa-vor-ite things! (insert Sound of Music tune)….

I know you know….it’s no secret I enjoy my Jack Daniels with a little Diet Coke every now and then….

But did you know???  I am an HUGE Alice in Wonderland fan!!!

Give me an opportunity to share some Alice whimsy with the world and I just might do a little futterwacken….

Introducing……….…..Jack and Alice….and the Rabbit Hole Dresser!

I totally lost myself in this project!!  I just went all Mad Hatter gallymoggers!

And I painted a rabbit hole!!!

Dive right in my friend….this rabbit hole will make you gyre!

This video is NOT short…so if you’re in a hurry….just move right on!  But if you want an insight into my crazy mind when I’m immersed in full design mode….press play…if you dare!

This little snippet is rather quick….and gives you product information for making your own rabbit hole piece!  I used Raven and Antique Lace by Heirloom Traditions Paint…because it is my FAVORITE paint with the most amazing owners and staff ever!!!  This video introduces my FAVE antiquing gel by HTP known as Dark Antiquing Patina….and it is the BEST when looking for an aged finish…or when you just want to knock back a color a smidgen!  I use it daily!!! It’s very easy to apply!

Do NOT forget….when you follow the links to purchase from HTP….remember to use your coupon code at check out. My code is FANCY (all capital letters). This will give you 10% off your order….AND helps me to continue blogging!!!

My favorite antiquing gel – Dark Antiquing Patina.

This little side kick was a bonus for this set…and it is not blessed with its own rabbit hole!  There can only be ONE!

I also used Raven and Antique Lace on this piece.

I used the crocodile stencil on the drawer front and I have a video in a previous post…..showing how I very “messily” make a raised stencil!

The trim and the croc pattern are done with Modern Masters Olympic Gold ….and once again I glazed the entire piece (even the black) with Dark Antiquing Patina.

Here they are together….isn’t the sidekick cute??

I reeeealllly love this view!  Wouldn’t it be great if it was acceptable to place the dresser in its forever home at this angle???  So all of its rabbit hole beauty shows at a glance???

This is what Jack Daniels can do to your vision if you “drink me” too much… beware!

I must admit to doing a bit of futterwacken myself, when I first glimpsed this masterpiece! You have utterly ruined me for ordinary furniture EVER again. Never will I be content with a nice polite paint finish…I’ll forever crave the joyful madness of Alice inspired design, as only Tracey can create. Thanks A LOT. xox

    • I’m so sorry Heather!!! Lol!! But I know what you mean!! All I can think about is painting my next piece in this similar style!! But the pieces on my current set of work orders won’t allow it. Why???? Why not???? Thanks for sharing in the joy of this post! You are greatly loved!

  2. Let’s be honest here……..
If ANYONE would have said to me, “Let me show my beautiful dresser and side table with croc detail, loads of black and gold, an Alice in Wonderland rabbit hole and a Jack Daniels Logo”…….
My head would have tilted to the side with my eyebrows VERY skeptically raised (cuz’ seriously……………)

It’s marvelous and I LOVE it!!!

    • Nicole…..this comment is by far my favorite comment EVER!!!!! LOLOLOLOL! I know what you mean!!! Sometimes when my ideas come to me…..I have this same response! I tilt my head and aks myself….”really…..???”. So I get it! Thank you for enjoying my vision and understanding my heart! Because that is what my pieces are… heart! Much love and admiration to you and for your work!
      XOXO, Tracey
