Whether it’s Belle, the Beast, Cogsworth, or Mrs. Potts, everyone wants a little “fantasy” in their life. My friend found this armoire at an estate sale and wanted it to be repainted to match her and her daughter’s favorite movie – Beauty and the Beast.
Before we could decide on a color scheme for the painted armoire, Paula Blankenship, Creative Director of Heirloom Traditions Paint, enlisted me to create the company’s color cards. Immediately I knew I want this painted armoire to be a one-of-a-kind piece. Whimsical. French. Colorful.
Here are all the various tones of red that were on the chosen color palette for this beautiful painted armoire!
It included Daredevil, Peppery, Quite Coral, Mandarin and Clay Pot. And of course I had to add my signature gold with Modern Masters Metallic Olympic Gold, 6-Ounce. You can also find this fabulous gold in a quart size here.
I carefully planned out the placement of each color. The stripes and even the diamond pattern, and then the touches of gold. The fun colors brought this piece to life and turned it into something magical.
This painted armoire was already pretty to begin with; the colors just accentuated her assets.
And here is Heirloom Traditions’ final color card with MY painted armoire.
